Scope: detailed design and construction support

The pedestrian footbridge over the River Lérez comprises a lower deck arch with a span of 82,50 m and a rise of 13,40 m. Both deck and arch are steel structures. The arch is made up of a pipe of 1,00 m diameter. The deck which is 4,00 m wide and 0,80 m deep has a lens-shaped cross section.

The footbridge was built parallel to the river on one riverside. Once it was finished, the bridge ends were placed on two turning tables: one on shore and the other one off shore on a boat. The footbridge was first turned by the movement of the boat and then longitudinally shifted, holding the off shore bridge end with a crane and fixing the on shore one on a bed of sliding Teflon bearings which allowed its longitudinal launching.
