WORKS OF THE RAILWAY ACCESS TO THE PORT OF FERROL

02/2024

The works for the railway access to the Port of Ferrol in La Coruña continue. The Ferrol-San Cibrao Port Authority awarded the EPTISA-APPLUS joint venture the technical assistance for the management and coordination, technical control and execution of the works.
The viaduct, which will connect the inner harbor with the mouth of the A Graña tunnel, will be 608 m long. It will be divided into two sections. The first, on land, will be 211 m long, while the second, 397 m long, will run over the A Malata inlet up to the abutment located in A Graña.
FHECOR participated as a consultant in the technical assistance to the construction management, drafting an amendment to the construction project to adapt all the structures involved; access ramps, viaduct over the Fernández Ladreda pier and bridge over the inlet of A Malata, to the available construction resources. This circumstance was used to increase the width of the deck, adapting it to the needs of the platform, and to provide continuity to the trusses of the metal viaduct, stylizing the solution.
Currently, FHECOR continues to advise the technical assistance during the development of the construction and especially in the monitoring of the launching process of the bridge deck over the inlet of A Malata, with the aim of ensuring the control of all stages, from fabrication and assembly to its positioning in the final situation.
At FHECOR we are very proud to see this project grow, which will generate a great leap for the port and its area of influence.
